Review: LANCOME Hypnose Drama mascara

Ever since I bought my first tube of cheap (very cheap) mascara in the 8th grade, I knew that I would have a lasting relationship with mascara. When I wore it, people noticed my eyes. They complimented me on the fact that they seemed extra striking, instead of making fun of how enormous they looked on my tiny face. I have always loved trying mascara’s from different brands, in different shapes and even different colours. It is very much an adventure for me. I recently started using Lancôme Hypnose Drama in Extra Black and these are my thoughts.

The packaging is simply stunning. The box and tube are both decorated with the cutest doodles by Lanvin designer Alber Elbaz. At first I really did not want to open or use it simple because it looks so amazing. The first application was somewhat of a messy situation however. There was just way too much product on the wand but, after depositing most of the product back in the tube, I tried again.

Let me tell you, there is definitely no lack of drama when the mascara is applied. The curved brush took me a while to get used to and I am not quite sure how I feel about the formula. Once I got the application correct my lashes were certainly huge and the product smelled incredible. The only thing I would change about this mascara is the fact that the brush scoops up such large dollops of product. Overall I feel I could definitely grow to like this product. It usually takes me quite a while to warm to mascara’s so who knows I still might become besties with this one.

Life begins at...Sobriety?

That seems to be the case for me. Let me start by saying, had it not been for a near death experience, I would certainly not be writing this...
